Terms and Conditions

We recommend you read carefully all information on the terms and conditions that are handed to you with your rental contract

Important:

Rates include limited liability coverage, ilimited kilometers, Vat charges ate regular rate, maintenance, lubricants and travel assitence 24hours.
All extras not included in the rate, are charged at the price on public rate and rental conditions.

Minimum rental:

The minimum rental period is 24 hours. For late returns, an extra 20% of the daily rate wll be charged. For delays superior to 2hours, and extra day will be charged.

Driver’s Age:

Minimum 23 years old with one year driving experience. Thus, the rental will be allowed for an extra Young Driver Surcharge (YDS) at €5,00 per day, up to a maximum of €50,00 per rental.

Cancellations:

To all pre-paid rentals, cancellation will not give the right to refund of the value.

Bookings:

The rental date ( Delivery and collection dates, etc., are binding).

Terms of Payment:

Estimated rental values have to be paid at rental celebration and any adjustments will be applied at car return. To bail the customer must be credit cardholder or € 500.00 ( Cash ) . The respective bail will be released at the end of the lease to own, if there was no fault with the rented car . The respective invoices will be issued at the end of the lease.

Documents and equipment:

The car is delivered with sealed speedmeter. Normal tools, one spare wheel ive tires duly marked and without visible defects and car licence.

Maintenance:

The client is responsable for the good use and maintenance of the car and undertakes moreover to check the oil, the battery, the fire pressure, the water level at the radiator.

Return of the car:

Rental ends on the day fixed and indicated in the contract signed by client. Car is to be returned in the same conditions as delivered apart from normal wear. If the clients desires to change the contracted rental terms, he must obtain the necessary approval from the Tropical company at least three days before the original contracted date of return.

Damages:

All cars are delivered in perfect conditions. The damage in the car not caused by a normal wear is the responsability of the driver. Any damage caused by shock at the inferior part of the vehicle, aluminium wheel and drain plugs will be the responsability of the customer.

Accidents:

In case of accidents, the client must inform the Tropical firm by telephone (confirming by letter) within 24hours and also undertakes to have the case immediately investigated by competent authorities.

Usufruct:

The client is obliged to use the car personally and tought to respect the laws in the countries where he is travelling.

Costs in the rental period:

Petrol, garanging and washing during rental period. All fines during rental.

Fuel:

Vehicles are to be returned in the same condition and with full tank. If not refuelled, an extra charge will be applied to the client at an average of 10Lts per 100Kms, along with a Refuelling Service Charge of €5,00.

Liability for damages:

The cliente is responsible for all damage caused in the vehicle, as well as the days of immobilization.

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW):

The Renter is responsible for any damage caused to the Tropical vehicle as the result of an accident. The Renter may accept the Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) Clause by paying an additional charge, in which case he will only be liable up to the minimum excess amount for damage to the vehicle. However, even if the Renter accepts the CDW Clause, he is always liable for any accidents occurring in situations involving intent or serious negligence such as driving under the influence of alcohol, narcotics or any other substances affecting his capacity for reaction, in case of serious breaches of Highway Code and supplementary legislation in force, as well as, it`s usage of a unauthorized additional driver.

Super CDW (SCDW):

The client that has acquired the Super CDW will be reducing the value obligatory deductible by the maximum obligatory deductible in the value of €50,00. However, even if the Renter accepts the CDW Clause, he is always liable for any accidents occurring in situations involving intent or serious negligence. The SCDW does not cover damage below the vehicle , nor damage /destroyed rims and tires.

CPJ (Tire/Rim Damage Waiver):

If purchase with Super CDW, this coverage provides exempt payment in rim and tire damage. The client will be responsable for the repairment up to Minimum Liability of €50,00.

RETURN OF THE CAR "CHECK IN":

The present text reflects the Standard Terms and Conditions. It seeks to inform the Renter of the procedures to be adopted in the event of an accident, theft, fire or acts of vandalism. It does not exclude the reading of the Tropical Standard Terms and Conditions which are obligatory to read. Failure to comply with these obligations shall be the sole responsibility of the renter, even if the latter has subscribed to CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) and SCDW (DE – Deductible Exemption)

IMPORTANT WARNINGS:

The rentals ends – On the fixed Day by the client. If a prorrogation is required, the same must be asked in advance and duply paid for accordingly, otherwise he will be driving without being insured and will be holding the car undly. Any fees and penalties originated by infringement of the prevalling laws and regulations, are of the clients own responsability.
